Washington University in St. Louis' Environmental Studies department, in consultation with a national advisory panel, is conducting a land trust feasibility study for the City of St. Louis. Due by August of 2018, the report the will include:
descriptions of land-trust models from across the country, a review of national best practices, and a recommendation for the structure best-suited for St. Louis
calculations for the costs and benefits of converting vacant lots to community-owned green spaces
evaluation of community green space needs and priorities
The results of the study will guide the development of an ownership and maintenance structure for GCC green space project areas.
